eyelash growth

I bought this plant the other day, the guy at the garden center talked me into, it's pretty but I got home and looked it up and it seems they dont do well in my zone. anyway had it in my bathroom-lot's of light, and started seeing alot of stuff that looked like dirt but not underneath, NOW I am thinking that was there poop. anyway spent half an hour picking them off, with tweezers-don't want to touch them, they have a nasty looking stinger on em and nasty green slime. what can I do to get rid of them?

return it to the store. be sure to thoroughly check all plants before bringing them home. inspect any in your home for contamination.
