My daughter is wearing a beautiful red dress trimmed with white maribou. think White Christmas or The American Girl's Felicity. anyway, the feathers shed terribly (they are the real feathers). is there any way to reduce the shedding without weighing down the feathers or making them matted? After I sewed on the maribou my shirt was covered in feathers and I looked like a chicken!

I'm not sure whether there's any way to eliminate the shedding permanently. The best thing I can think of is to either run a slightly damp hand or one of those sheets of rubbery stuff that keeps items from slipping over the area, the idea being to remove as much of the shedding feathers as possible, leaving only the ones that stay in place–Messy: yes, successful: hopefully…. You could also try shaking the heck out of it (outdoors) to remove as many of the shedding feathers as possible.
