If i go through train down Michigan down to Florida how much would it cost?
I have never been on or traveled by train, but was thinking about traveling down south through it.
I don't know wether i should or not..
Does anyone know how much it will cost to travel down that way?
&also, am i limited of the amount of kuggage bags that i bring aboard with me?
And about my cosmetics, such as make up, eyelash curler, tweezers, lotions, toothpastes, hand sanitizers.. are those or will they be a problem??

they do not have any rescirtions on travel travel
If you're leaving from the Detroit metropolitan area (stations are Ann Arbor, Dearborn, Detroit, and Pontiac), you'll take a bus to Toledo to catch one of the trains to the East Coast.
From Grand Rapids, you'll take the Pere Marquette to Chicago.
Other than that, Travelmaster did a good job.
There is no restriction on the contents of your baggage (except for weapons). Go to the Amtrak web site and research the routes and cost for tickets.
Travelmaster did a lousy job, he wastes a day by sending you through Chicago. That's just not necessary for most Michigan residents, the trains they need run along the Michigan border and they can drive down, or take the Amtrak to Detroit or Lansing and take an express bus from there to Toledo.
It's a great trip, a lot of fun. The best part is you get a whole day in DC to do "touristy" stuff. You're 2 blocks from the Capitol Building, National Mall, a healthy walk from the Smithsonian and right next to the Metro.
Like I say don't go to Chicago. You want the Capitol Limited, and it runs along the Michigan border. Drive down to Toledo, Waterloo IN, Elkhart or South Bend… or there's an Amtrak express bus (just for Amtrak) – talk to them.
It's a very fast overnight ride to DC – you get on in the late evening. You snooze through Ohio and Pennsylvania and you wake up in the mountains of West Virginia. This is a big double deck train with a lounge car you should check out. Get breakfast in the diner (it's the most reasonably priced of the diner meals). By late morning, you roll into Washington DC. Here you change trains to a Florida train.
If you've ever seen the old Jimmy Stewart flick "mr. Smith goes to Washington", he walks out of the train station, and the Capitol Building is "right there". Well they haven't moved either one. You'll have some hours to kill, and you're right in downtown DC. there is a bag-check in the station where you can check your carry-on bags while you explore DC. Be back 45 minutes before train time.
There's no TSA.
Now your next train goes south from DC to Florida. that also is an overnight train so you travel while you sleep, and you wake up in the deep South. Dinner in the diner! You can also bring your own food, but they do not have refrigerators or microwaves for your food. The diner doesn't even have a microwave. Doesn't have a fryer either, for obvious reasons.
You could also route via new York, the downside is the layover is much shorter. The stations are the same, the times are nearly the same, and you change to the same Florida train. You wake up clipping along the Mohawk River, and then you ride down the Hudson river valley – possibly the prettiest ride on Amtrak. The station is in downtown NYC at 34th/7th, but it's dirty and busy and not nearly as nice as DC. but it's right on a half dozen subway lines. Then your train to Florida tears down the "Northeast Corridor", all electric high speed rail, the fastest track in North America, on its way to Washington.
