“Growing up, I had quite a few skin problems,” said NatashiaNewhouse, new owner of Skinn Spa Services. “I thought it would getbetter after high school and it didn’t.”

With the desire to not only help herself but also others, Newhousedecided to pursue a career in helping people with skincareconcerns.

Newhouse was born in Osage, and with the help and support of herfamily decided to open her business in Osage.

“I decided to open a business here because I like the feel of thecommunity,” she said. “Everyone is so friendly. they make you feelwelcome.”

She attended La’James School in Cedar Falls.

“Before then, I had found no solutions to my skincare problems,”said Newhouse. “By attending La’James, I was not only able to findthose solutions, I also found the passion to want to help others aswell.”

She would especially like to share her knowledge withteenagers.

“I want to help them  understand why things are happening withtheir skin and what options they have,” said Newhouse.

She also believes people misunderstand the meaning of the word“spa.”

“A spa is a place where you can relax,” said Newhouse. “You need totake of yourself. I offer many different options for you to feelbetter.

“Your skin is very important and needs to be checked.”

Although she sees mainly women and teens, she would like to remindmen they should take care of their skin as well.

Some of Newhouse’s services include facials  (specialized for yourskin concerns), body wraps, makeup consultation and application,eyelash extensions, waxing and much, much more.

Her specialty is microdermabrasion.

This procedure removes the outermost layer of skin cells andstimulates cell growth in the underlying dermis.

“Microdermabrasion helps give a smoother, fresher appearance to theskin,” she said. “It is also used to diminish the appearance of sundamage, fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged pores, andcoarse-textured skin.

“I do see those with acne and aging concerns,” said Newhouse. “ButI have many options for treatments in other areas as well.”

Other areas of service include reflexology, waxing, bridalconsultation, galvanic current, micro- current facial massage andhot/cold hammer.

“I also use electricity through high frequency in some of theservices I provide,” she said.

Newhouse’s Skinn Spa Services is located at Just Cuts inOsage.

“People are more than welcome to stop by for a free skin analysis,”she said. “Just stop by and we can visit about all your skinconcerns.”

Hours are Wednesday – Saturday, 10 -5 and evenings byappointment.
