PD: ‘Elaborate’ Pot Growing Operation Busted
GLASTONBURY, Conn. — Police in Glastonbury said they have uncovered an elaborate marijuana growing operation at a home on Ferry Lane South.On Friday, members of the Glastonbury Police Department, the East Central Narcotics Task Force and members of the Drug Enforcement Administration executed a search and seizure warrant at the home of Michael Shenstone, 59.Police said they discovered the marijuana growing operation in a barn located on the property of Shenstone.Police said more than 100 pot plants were found inside a sealed room inside the barn, which had been lined with foil and was equipped with artificial growing lights, ventilation and nutrition for growing the plants.The search and seizure warrant came after months of investigating by the Glastonbury Police Department after receiving information about marijuana being grown on the property.Shenstone was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to sell, cultivation of marijuana, operating a drug factory and possession of drug paraphernalia.Shenstone posted $150,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on Sept. 22.
