Kara Tointon is already scoring top marks – and she hasn’t even stepped on the dancefloor.

The former EastEnders star, 27, looked worthy of a perfect 10 as she posed up with dance partner Artem Chigvintsev ahead of Strictly come Dancing’s return.

She wore a dazzling green dress, fishnet stocking and gold heels for the Radio Times photo shoot, which stars her fellow competitors.

Kara will be performing for the first time this weekend, alongsidecompetitors including Felicity Kendal, Tina O’Brien, PaulDaniels, Ann Widdecombe and Gavin Henson.

Patsy Kensit has revealed she is hoping the show will help her bounce back after a difficult time.

This year sh split from her fourth husband Jeremy Healy and decide to leave her role in Holby City.

The 42-year-old star, who will be taking to the dancefloor for thefirst time on Friday night, thinks the BBC show is just what she needsto take her mind off her personal life.

She told the Radio Times: ‘I’m leaving Holby City and it has been adifficult year. I’ve lost my confidence.

AndKensit, who posed in a sexy purple dress with partner Robin Gibsonahead of their Strictly debut, said she is looking forward to immersingherself in the glitz and glamour of the programme.

She added: ‘I need to start feeling comfortable in my own skin again.

‘On Holbyit’s all drab uniforms, no make-up and hospital surroundings.

‘Here it’sall eyelashes, hairpieces, frocks with sparkles and glitter balls andI’m embracing it all.’

Earlier this year, Kensit admitted in an interview that her weighthad ballooned and she suffered from depression after the split.

She told she magazine: ‘This year has been truly, truly awful. I lost my confidence and ballooned from eight stone to 11.

‘But I’m looking forward now, with one million per cent conviction, that I definitely won’t be getting married again.

‘It’s embarrassing, humiliating, all those terrible emotions thatmake you want to run away and hide.

‘I can’t tell you how foolish andashamed I feel.

‘But I’m a 42-year-old woman, a single mother. I have a job. I haveto get on. there is no crime in falling down, the shame is in notpicking yourself up. in life, it’s not what happens to you, but how youreact to it.’

And while Henson shows off his six pack in a black and red openjacket, it’s the girls who command the most attention in their fun andflirty outfits.

He said: ‘Well, after we found out our first dance, I went on theinternet and there was Len Goodman giving lessons on YouTube. Jackpot!’

And Daniels’ partner Ola was so impressed with his forward thinkingthat she now thinks they could make it all the way to the last show.

She said: ‘My prediction is the final, definitely. I am veryconfident. After seeing the steps he learned off the internet, I wasimpressed.’

ButDaniels isn’t the only one who is feeling intimidated about the firstprogramme, as rugby star Henson, 28, admits he is struggling with hisnerves.

He said: ‘I’m dreading embarrassing myself in front of millions. I like to thinkI am quite cool, but I might just ruin all that. I don’t even dance inclubs unless I’m very drunk.’

Strictly come Dancing starts on BBC1 on Friday night at 9pm.
